It underscores the company’s commitment to sustainable development across all key areas, with a strong focus on transitioning to a green economy, implementing an integrated strategy driven primarily by responsible business, innovation, and a deep understanding of the needs and comfort of its families.
The report also highlights our efforts to maintain a balance between real estate development and environmental and social responsibility, while showcasing the company’s major achievements in sustainability and governance practices that support its vision and contribute to community development and environmental protection.
As part of our efforts to reduce its carbon footprint, we have implemented several innovative strategies. The company’s building operations rely solely on electricity as an energy source, replacing other conventional forms of energy. Carbon emissions from transportation activities are being reduced by prioritizing local suppliers. Additionally, the company focuses on sustainable resource management by reducing waste, conserving water, enhancing energy efficiency through innovative designs and smart systems, and using sustainable raw materials such as pozzolana, a low-carbon alternative to cement.
Environmentally friendly infrastructure projects such as iCity New Cairo and LVLS have also been developed, incorporating green spaces, walkable streets, and energy-efficient systems. On another front, we have completed its first operational carbon emissions assessment for 2023, with its carbon footprint amounting to 603.84 metric tons of carbon dioxide equivalent (CO₂e).
In terms of social sustainability, we have launched several initiatives aimed at empowering communities and promoting technical education and personal development. These include various programs by Mountain View Foundation, such as the “Discovering Heroes” initiative, which benefited 40,000 youth, 48% of whom were girls, across five governorates, with 70 outstanding talents receiving tailored support. Moreover, Mountain View International Applied Technology School was established to equip Egyptian youth with modern skills tailored to the needs of both local and global labor markets, alongside the Mountain View Vocational Training Center. The company also strives to enhance employee well-being and creativity by fostering a workplace environment enriched with green spaces and collaborative work zones that encourage interaction and productivity, while nurturing innovation.
In the realm of governance and leadership in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, we have established a dedicated team to integrate ESG and corporate governance policies across its operations. This team focuses on meeting environmental, social, and governance objectives in accordance with the highest standards of transparency and accountability.
